News Flash!

Members of the Church of Christ in the Lansing Correctional Facility (Lansing, Kansas - just North of Kansas City, Kansas) are in need of outside volunteers who are willing and able to preach the gospel and teach faith building lessons at Maximum and Medium Unit services on Sundays.  Services are lead by inmate brethren, who typically assign responsibilities of prayer, communion, and song leading to inmate brothers, but all spiritual guidance from God's word must be provided by volunteers from free-world congregations.

Male volunteers are depended upon for sound Bible teaching, but they can also aide these congregations by introducing new songs, and four-part harmony, so Christian women may accompany brothers to these services for that purpose, as well as participation in Bible studies lead by Men.  Groups of outside volunteers may consist of as many as two men and two women.  Regardless of the availability of women our preference is that two men work together as a base unit or team.

The frequency of volunteer visits currently desired, depending on the number of weekends in a month, can be as little as Once, Twice, or Three times a month!

Sunday service times in either prison unit are 12:30pm to 2:30pm with about an hour of that time designated for teaching/preaching.

Thursday evening Bible studies are also available for those interested in a weekday evening appointment, and it is scheduled from 6:15pm to 8:15pm.

There is a lot of good that can be done here, so please prayerfully consider this evangelism opportunity.
