Small Group Ministries
What are Roswell Small Groups?
Small Groups is the caring heart of Roswell Church of Christ.
This ministry will be starting soon!  One of the ways that members of Roswell Church of Christ will have available to be involved in caring ministry is through the Roswell Small Group Ministry.  Participants in Roswell small groups, usually 20 or less in number, will get together on a regular basis to live out the great command of Jesus, to love one another, and the great commission, to make disciples of all nations.  Roswell Small Group participants are modern day disciples, ordinary people and followers of Jesus Christ.  Roswell groups spend their time in 4 main activity areas. 
1. Community building and care. Roswell members and friends will discover the joy of caring friendships in small groups.  Small Groups gatherings are members getting together usually once or twice a month for about an hour and a half sharing life experiences, the joys and sorrows of everyday living.  Small Groups gatherings are a time for conversation, laughter, tears, and encouragement. 
2.  Biblical Equipping. Equipping is an interesting word. It means making something fit for the role for which it is designed and intended.  Through Biblical Equipping, the Small Groups participant is transformed by the Holy Spirit and made fit for life as a follower of Jesus Christ.  Roswell small groups are places where spiritual growth occurs.  All activities of Roswell groups are Christ-centered. Biblical Equipping is a comfortable way to study God’s Word among friends and to discuss what it means for us today! Application of Biblical truths to everyday life makes Bible study come alive!
3. Prayer and Worship.  The 12 people closest to Jesus asked Him, "Lord teach us to pray..." (Luke 11:1). Roswell small groups encourage and practice prayer as an essential component of Christian life in community with other believers. Roswell groups worship and praise God through prayer bringing cares and concerns before the living God, who has promised to hear. 
4. Missional service. Roswell groups reach out to people outside of the group providing care, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual. Roswell groups respond to the love shown by Jesus, the undeserved kindness demonstrated by the sacrifice of his own life for the life of the world. Roswell groups give participants the opportunity to demonstrate the love of Christ to others How can I find out more about Roswell Small Group Ministry?  We believe that every person has been created for some kind of Christian community activity and our church gives that opportunity through the various small group ministries. 
The Holy Spirit can use you to facilitate congregational care to and through others and we urge all our members to become a part of small group activities of the church.  Small groups are also used to reach the lost for Christ.

"How to Live Life When Things Aren't Going Well."

"Mark, I just wanted to tell you that small groups work!"  Was this the message left on your voice mail the other day?  Read.
Ladies Group
A great lady in our church left me a message about what had happened in her small group the night before. 
She shared how a young lady had come to their study for the first time.  This young lady was having a difficult time in life. She had called several churches in the area asking for information and Roswell was the one church which responded.  One of our admin assistances referred her to the small group. 
Just so happens this small group was studying the book of Job and the topic for the evening was "How to Live Life When Things Aren't Going Well."  The new young lady was amazed at the timeliness of the message.  Still, though out the night, she struggled with anger towards God because of pain from her past.  The women in the group rallied around her, praying for her, assuring her that Jesus is patient with the process we walk in relationship with Him.
The small group leader shared that the meeting was capped off when the young lady said she sometimes missed weekend services because she didn't like attending church service alone. Immediately three other women told her that they attended the same service and they all agreed to meet up and sit together.
Connection.  That's what it's all about.
